Google Cycling Team

I usually write my blogposts in Dutch but I felt, I should write this one in English.

Eating a terrific pasta I was looking today’s summary of Tour De France on the news. They repeated a rumour about Google sponsoring Johan Bruyneel’s and Lance Armstrong’s new team. Which is to be announced tomorrow. I suddenly realised something: a while ago Larry Page, Google CEO did visit Belgium.

I decided to go in @johanbruyneel’s twitter history and noticed something interesting. Only the day before (June 16) he took a plane to Brussels for a meeting. Returning the same evening to Madrid.

Now why would they both be in Brussels on June 17? this is too much of a coincidence: Google will be sponsoring a cycling team. At least that’s what the tweets are telling me…

Edit: Dailies Het Nieuwsblad and De Standaard say Radio Shack will be the new sponsor. better luck next time! :-)

Edit 2: go and follow @teamradioshack, good luck to @johanbruyneel and @lancearmstrong!

Edit3 : www.teamradioshack is registered to CSE Cycling of Austin, Texas. This is Armstrong agent Bill Stapleton’s agency (via)

  1. hmm, er zit iets in.
Ik hoop dat ge gelijk krijgt, maar zou het niet logischer zijn dat Nike de hoofdsponsor wordt?
